Hi, I am Hanna Anmari Fields. I am a 20-year-old full-time college student. I am pursuing a bachelor’s in public Health with a minor in gerontology. Currently, I am studying at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
In addition to my ongoing education, I have 3 years of experience in long-term care and skilled nursing. I have seen older adults struggle and supported them during their final moments. This has greatly shaped my perspective and passion for living life well.
I have personal experience with loved ones experiencing health complications. My great-grandmother and author, Shirley Hale, passed from Alzheimer’s disease when I was in the 9th grade. We were extremely close, and it was a difficult time for us to navigate as teenagers. It inspired me to understand the disease and advocate. I participate in Dementia Friendly Pennsylvania and hope to see this movement continue to flourish.
My philosophy on wellness and aging is ever-changing and developing. I believe that wellness looks different for everyone, and finding what works for you is key to living your life well. I do not strive to be the perfect person; instead encourage others to become a more connected version of themselves and their lives.
